TV tube technology is used for all Philips 14" TVs giving good color reproduction on the smaller sets. A special circuitry has been incorporated into the 14PT1556 receiver to enhance the darker portions of the picture for added realism and overall picture quality. A touch of the SMART PICTURE button on the remote control provides the option of selecting one of four preset positions (Rich, Natural, Soft, Personal, Multimedia) to enhance enjoyment of video games, sports and movies, also based upon the room lighting condition. By selecting the desired option, all important picture elements are instantly adjusted to optimize viewing pleasure. A touch of the SMART SOUND button on the remote control provides the option of selecting one of three preset positions (Theatre, Music, Voice) to suit each individual sound preference when viewing different programs or sources.
No problem anymore to install your new TV. You choose the language you are more familiar with, the country you are in and the TV will install automatically all available programs. Teletext information is available. The Sleeptimer automatically turns the TV off at a preset time of up to 240 minutes from the time the feature is activated. Sleeptimer settings are programmed in 15, 30, and 60-minute increments. Connections for headphone and other inputs such as camcorder are on the front of the TV for ease of use.
